Basic Partner info

The Pomeranian Philharmonic in Bydgoszcz is world-renowned for its brilliant acoustics. One of the first artists to perform here was Artur Rubinstein, who – since his visit to Bydgoszcz in 1960 – has been the patron of the concert hall.

The Pomeranian Philharmonic is a cultural institution of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, co-managed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. It is considered one of the leading musical institutions in the country.

Our artistic activity includes symphonic and chamber concerts, as well as recitals by the most outstanding virtuosos from around the world, and numerous educational events.

The Philharmonic is home to two full-time artistic ensembles: the Symphony Orchestra and the Capella Bydgostiensis Chamber Orchestra.

Both ensembles are recognized worldwide and regularly perform in Poland and abroad. They have also participated in world premieres of works, including those written especially for them by composers such as Krzysztof Penderecki, Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, Wojciech Kilar, Bogusław Schaeffer, Romuald Twardowski, and Krzysztof Herdzin.
