The Museum of Photography is one of the facilities located on the Water, Industry and Crafts Trail TeH2O in Bydgoszcz. It has been operating at the University of Economy in Bydgoszcz since November 2004. The museum primarily preserves the memory of the ALFA Photographic Plate Factory, which operated in the city before World War II and was founded in 1926 by Marian Dziatkiewicz at ul. Garbary 3 in Bydgoszcz (now the WSG campus area), as well as the later Bydgoszcz Photochemical Works FOTON and the Bydgoszcz Photographic Society. Its collection, comprising over 4,000 exhibits, includes: cameras (a wooden studio camera from the late 19th century, a Leica from 1933), enlargers, photographic accessories, film cameras, projectors, negatives and photographs (including works by Jan Bułhak, Edward Hartwig, Jerzy Wardak, Jerzy Riegel, Andrzej Maźec), books and magazines (the Vilnius Photography Almanac from 1931), documents, and family memorabilia.
In addition to collecting and caring for objects of historical value, the museum conducts research and scientific activities, publishing, educational, and exhibition activities.
