The MUSEUM in BRODNICA was established on March 29, 1973, as the REGIONAL MUSEUM IN BRODNICA. Since 1999, the name of our institution has been the MUSEUM in BRODNICA. From the beginning, we have been a scientific and educational institution, fulfilling our statutory tasks within the departments of: ARCHAEOLOGY, HISTORY, ETHNOGRAPHY, and NATURE. The area of our activity is the broadly understood Brodnica region. The Museum in Brodnica is located in a complex of three historic buildings situated in the city center: the 14th-century Chełmno Gate with an adjacent tenement house, the cellars of the 14th-century Teutonic castle, and a Baroque granary from 1604. Our collection of artifacts numbers over 50,000 inventory items and nearly half a million exhibits.
